Schütten & Lemmerholz was already established in Düsseldorf in 1911.

The original company purpose of the two company founders, Mr. Schütten and Mr. Lemmerholz, was wholesale business with dairy products. A few years later, Mr. Schütten left the company, Mr. Lemmerholz remained as sole owner. A short time later, Mr. Lemmerholz acquired a cold store and an ice factory. The foundation for today's Kühlhaus Düsseldorf was thus laid.

The company expanded with the cold store business and also experienced a rapid upswing with the second generation of the Lemmerholz family, so that the company was already able to offer its customers more than 40,000 m³ of freezing capacity in 1976. During the same year, the company relocated its headquarters to its current address at Mainstraße in Neuss-Norf, a few kilometres away from Düsseldorf.

In 1985, the company management was taken over by both sons of the third generation: Mr. Thomas Lemmerholz was responsible for the cold store business, Mr. Robert Lemmerholz, for wholesale business with dairy products. 13 years later, the Dairy Products business division also became legally autonomous under the management of Mr. Robert Lemmerholz.

In 1986, the cold store expanded its capacities again by 20,000 m³ to 60,000 m³. In addition, in 1989 an EU-licensed food processing operation was set up, which is rented to customers for food processing.

With the start of 1992, the cooperation with a frozen foods shipping company was continuously built up.

After the sale of this cooperation partner in 2006, an own shipping department was set up within the Kühlhaus Düsseldorf company.

Since taking over all shares in the company in 2004, Mr. Thomas Lemmerholz is sole shareholder and partner of the company.

Today, Kühlhaus Düsseldorf is a state-of-the-art, multifaceted logistics service provider with a Europe-wide network.
